What is Mural?

Mural is a collaborative and virtual web-based platform brainstorming tool. The tool allows learners, instructors, and project teams to share their ideas remotely using templates, virtual sticky notes, drawing boards, and more. Group members can respond to ideas in many forms such as drawing and writing. In addition, Mural is useful for giving virtual or onsite workshops, demonstrations, and presentations.

Within a Mural account, users can have multiple workspaces for various group or personal projects and classes. These groups can be open or private depending on the setting of the workspace. Groups can also break out into smaller groups to create mini murals that can be shared with the larger group afterward. Users can use Mural tools or share videos, files, and other documents. Mural's creative tools and features transform the traditional whiteboard into a creative and innovative space for learning and generating ideas through interactive tools.

Mural can be used as both asynchronous and synchronous learning tool. Comments and contributions are displayed in real-time but can be retrieved by users at any time. The site functions similar to a shared google document where more than one user can contribute and edit at a time but with more creative inputs and options.
